Chinese Space Station

The Chinese Space Station (CSS) is a modular space station being constructed by the China National Space Administration (CNSA). It is designed for a variety of scientific research and international collaboration in low Earth orbit. The CSS will consist of a core module, named Tianhe, which provides living and working space for astronauts, and two laboratory modules, Wentian and Mengtian, which will be added to expand the station's capabilities. The space station is intended to support a crew of up to three astronauts for extended missions and can accommodate additional crew during crew changeovers. The CSS emphasizes scientific experimentation across fields such as biology, human physiology, astronomy, and materials science, making it a significant platform for research and development in space. With an expected operational lifetime of at least ten years, the Chinese Space Station aims to play a key role in global space exploration efforts.
