New Glenn Rocket
The New Glenn rocket is an orbital launch vehicle developed by Blue Origin, an American aerospace manufacturer and spaceflight services company. Named after the astronaut John Glenn, the rocket is designed to carry payloads to a variety of orbits, including low Earth orbit (LEO) and geostationary transfer orbit (GTO). New Glenn is a heavy-lift rocket, featuring a reusable first stage intended to reduce the cost of access to space. It stands at approximately 95 metres tall and is powered by a combination of Blue Origin's BE-4 engines, which run on liquefied natural gas and liquid oxygen. The rocket's design incorporates a fairing that can carry large payloads, and it aims to support commercial satellite launches, scientific missions, and potential crewed spaceflights in the future. New Glenn represents Blue Origin's ambitions to expand capabilities in the competitive space launch market.
