Parker Solar Probe

The Parker Solar Probe is a NASA spacecraft designed to study the Sun's outer atmosphere, known as the corona. Launched in August 2018, it is the first spacecraft to fly into the Sun's atmosphere, aiming to gather data on solar winds, magnetic fields, and the structure of the corona. The probe is named after Dr. Eugene Parker, an astrophysicist who proposed the existence of solar winds in the 1950s. Its mission involves a series of close approaches to the Sun, allowing it to measure various solar phenomena and improve our understanding of solar activity, which can impact space weather and Earth's environment.
